He was born in Newport News on December 5, 1941, son of the late Casey M. Taylor and the late Mabel Anderson Taylor. In addition to his parents, a brother, Ronnie Taylor, also preceded him in death.
Leon was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and retired from Archer Creek Foundry. He served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of Lynchburg American Legion Post #16. Leon was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed his daily walks.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a son, Glen Taylor and wife Tammy; a step-son, Wayne White and wife Annette; a step-daughter, Angelia Pannell and husband Jimmie; 8 grandchildren, Logan Taylor, Holden Taylor, Tyler White and wife Marie, Starla White, Travis White, Delanee Pannell, Kacee Pannell, and Colby Pannell; 3 great grandchildren, Skylar White, Hayden White, and Hayslee White.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad McMullen officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
