Born on January 8, 1947 Linda was raised in, and called Monroe her home until 2019, when she relocated to Milton, Florida. Her life was adorned with a profound love for butterflies, the allure of beautiful flowers, and a deep appreciation for the color purple. Linda's presence was a living testament to love and grace, as she extended her warmth and kindness to all she encountered. Her passion for the Kansas City Chiefs, her beloved football team, was unwavering. Linda possessed a unique gift for brightening the lives of others, effortlessly invoking laughter and understanding wherever she went. She was the cornerstone of compassion, always willing to offer a sympathetic ear, and her charming personality left an enduring imprint on the hearts of countless individuals. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents Linda was preceded in death by her beloved soul mate, best friend and husband, William Douglas “Doug” Spencer and her sister Jean Franklin.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her children Earl Henry Barber and his wife Julie of Madison Heights, Landon Kent Branch and his wife Amber of Milton, Florida; her grandchildren Miranda Bailey and her husband Shayne of Amherst, Nathan Barber of Fairfax, Katlynn Branch of Olathe, Kansas, Gabriel Branch of Milton, Florida; her great-grandson Connor Bailey; her step-grandchildren Grace Wortman of St. Petersburg, FL, Emma & Emeric Wortman of Milton, FL; and her siblings Nancy Rogers of Ruckersville, Patsy Little of Madison Heights, and Shirley Schmidt and her husband James of Forest.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from 1:30-2:30pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
A graveside inurnment will follow at Amherst Cemetery at 3:00pm.
