

Born August 25, 1949 in Richland, VA, she was the daughter of the late William Oley Atwell and Helen Adams Huddleston and was also preceded in death by Della Berger, the “Mama” who raised her; two brothers, William Clarence Atwell and Lawrence Atwell and two sisters, Katherine Weikel and Brenda Benateau. She was retired from the Lynchburg Department of Social Services with more than twenty-five years of service and was a member of New Beginning Tabernacle.
Linda is survived by two daughters, Helen W. Cox and husband Ricky and Jennifer W. Sigmon and husband David, all of Madison Heights; two sons, Jeffery Ward of Myrtle Beach, SC and Robbie Ward and wife Donna of Chatham; four brothers, Donald Atwell of Cleveland, OH, Barney Atwell and wife Joyce of Newport News, Danny Atwell of Pocahontas, and David Atwell and wife Sandy of War, West Virginia; four sisters, Cleo “Tootie” Shirkey and husband Richard of Appomattox, Mary Nevils of Bedford, Eunice Campbell and husband Gleason of Pleasant View, and Louise McGee and husband Willard of War, West Virginia and twelve grandchildren.
Linda is also survived by her significant other, Jessie Eubank and his daughters, Kay Eubank, Gayle Murphy, Tina Campbell, and Jessie Linda Eubank.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2013 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with John Sines, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
