Marlyn Marie Jones

Born on May 11, 1961, in Calvert County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Annie Belle Horsmon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Marie Jones; two brothers, James and Pete Horsmon; and her beloved great aunt, Bethel Mays.

Marlyn was a loving wife, mother and “Nanny” which was a title that she treasured. She enjoyed tending to her plants, crafting, spending time with her beloved cat Molly and could always be counted on for a smile which she wore almost all the time. To Marlyn, the happiness of her family and those around her was of utmost importance to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those that knew her.

She is survived by her husband of almost 47 years, Johnnie Wayne Jones; a son, Jonathan Wayne Jones (Rosanne); a daughter, Tonya Lynn Jones (James); very very special granddaughter, Savannah Cheyanne Clay “best friend”; granddaughters, Bethany Mae Hughes and Jessie Leigh Hughes; two brothers, Steve and Ronald Horsmon; and a sister, Delores Baybutt.

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Briarwood Memorial Gardens officiated by Pastor Daryl Donald.
