Born on December 22, 1934, in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Delma Lewis Campbell and Myrtle Virginia Camden Campbell.
Marvin retired from Southern States and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was farming, raising cattle or enjoying nature.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Campbell and Lewis Earl Campbell; and a sister, Virginia Maxwell.
Marvin is survived by his son, David Campbell of Richmond; brother, Dalvin “Junie" Campbell and wife, Rebecca Sue of Mechanicsville; sister, Phyllis Mays of Amherst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Steve Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at Amherst Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service starting at 11 a.m.
