

He was born January 13, 1923, in Shines, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Ophelia Corbett; two sisters, Gatsie C. Head, and Rosa C. Hill; as well as a granddaughter, Erica Kinney.
Mr. Corbett was a United States Navy WW II veteran, and was stationed in Hawaii during Pearl Harbor. He was a member of Kingdom Hall, in Monroe, and was retired from Nations Bank, in Lynchburg.
Survivors also include his daughter, Becci C. Kidd; and a son, Marvin Glenn Corbett and wife Anita, both of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert and husband James, M. Scott Kidd, Jared W. Kidd, and Makala L. Corbett; three great-grandchildren, Allyson, Carlynn, and Madylon, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6-8:00 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence of Mrs. Corbett.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the funeral home, by Curt Mawyer. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the Lynchburg General Hospital, CTICU, staff, and the nurses at Centra Hospice, for the care and compassion given to Mr. Corbett and his family. And also a special thank you to Phil Wallace and others for being by the families side during this difficult time.
