Mary Morris Morris Foster

Mary Morris Foster, 93, of Elon, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Broadus Addie Foster, who passed away on November 17, 2001, on the day of their 61st wedding anniversary.

Born April 5, 1920 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Earl Grey Morris, Sr. and the late Annie Rucker Morris and was also preceded in death by a brother, E. Grey Morris, Jr. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Elon Baptist Church for many years. She loved her church family and her many friends.

Mrs. Foster is survived by her daughter, Linda F. Reichard and husband Glenn of Rustburg; two granddaughters, Michele Riddle and husband Keith of Concord and Melissa Shaffer and husband Christopher of Middleton, MA; four great-grandchildren, Charlie Riddle, Reagan Riddle, Christian Shaffer, and Cate Shaffer; a brother, Robert P. Morris and wife Yoland of Montpelier and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Elon Baptist Church with Pastors Steve Tyree and Charles Jolley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the church and other times at her residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elon Baptist Church Building fund or Centra Hospice.
