

Born November 27, 1933, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late James Carroll and Helen Smith Moore. She was raised on White Rock Hill where family values and work Ethic was stressed.
Upon graduation from E.C. Glass High School, in 1952, she began her employment with C & P telephone Co. She retired in 1991 with 37 ½ years service, spending most of her working days in the business office starting as a service representative and retiring as an assistant manager. She loved her job and her co-workers.
She was baptized at the age of 10 and joined Bethesda Presbyterian Church and became a member of the choir at 13. After her marriage and the birth of her first son she became a charter member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Madison Heights. During the years she served the church as a choir member, Sunday school teacher, deacon, and elder and served on several committees. She loved her church and was very faithful.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Meador and wife Gail, of Glen Allen, and Steve Meador (Gayle), of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Carrie Meador, Sarah Meador, Jason Meador, and Kristen Meador Freeman and husband Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Colton, and Caleb Freeman; a brother, Jimmie Moore and his wife Marie, of Lynchburg; a special cousin, Marie France and husband Bobby, of Madison Heights; several nieces, nephews, and a close friend, Mel Thurmond, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, by Pastor Jeff Porter. Interment will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
