He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Bennett of Spout Spring; one son, Jacob Jackson and wife, Pearl of Prospect; a sister, Dianne Gentry and husband, Charles of Roanoke; two brothers, Michael Jackson and wife, Karen of Rustburg and Mark Jackson of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Noah Dunkley and Jacob Jackson and Melvin’s girlfriend, Susan Barbour of Madison Heights.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery in Rustburg with Dr. Oscar Blanchard officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the needs of the family.
