Born on October 28, 1998, in Bedford, VA, Mikah was a vibrant soul whose love and laughter touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Nancy Jackson of Madison Heights; his cherished father, Kevin Rucker of Dallas, TX; and his two beloved sisters, Jasmine Rucker of Amherst and Kaylyn Rucker of Evington, whom he adored with all his heart. Also surviving are his loving grandmother, Rita Trent of Rustburg; his admiring grandfather, Robert Rucker of Lynchburg; and his brother and best friend, Damien Coyle of Amherst. Mikah leaves behind numerous other family members and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his “Pop,” Lare Jackson, and his dear aunt, Juanita “Mena” Stone, both of whom held a special place in his life.
To know Mikah was to love him. His infectious smile and joyful laughter could light up any room. Mikah was a gifted musician with a remarkable talent for freestyle and had special gift for making music his own. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about basketball. A natural comedian, Mikah’s wit and humor brought happiness to everyone around him. His loyalty to his loved ones was unmatched, and he was always the first to offer a comforting hug or a kind word to brighten someone’s day.
Mikah’s genuine and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel, with a Memorial Celebration of Life immediately following at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Alvin Scott.
