Nancy Ford Ayers

Nancy Ford Ayers, 84, of Madison Heights, passed away on December 31, 2023. Born on February 6, 1939, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard C. Ford and Beulah Drinkard Ford. She was the beloved wife of the late Lemuel J. Ayers, Jr. Nancy's career spanned nearly four decades as a nurse at Medical Associates, where her dedication touched countless lives. Even after retirement, she continued to extend warmth and support as a receptionist at Whitten Funeral Home in Madison Heights. Her legacy is woven through a life dedicated to care and compassion. However, Nancy's truest joy was found within her family. A loving wife and mother, her heart was most radiant in the presence of her grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her son, L.J. "Jimmy" Ayers, III, and his wife Nancy of Monroe, her daughter Vicki Ayers Page of Concord, and her cherished grandchildren, L.J. "Jamie" Ayers, IV (Lauren), Rebecca Page, and Jordan Ayers. A memorial service in celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dwayne Martin. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects for one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Christie Bray for the devoted love, care, and attention she provided to Nancy during her final months. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 56, Madison Heights, VA 24572 a fitting tribute to Nancy's spirit of generosity and service.
