Naomi Swoyer Swoyer Turner

Born on June 25, 1939, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Allen Paul and Helen Doris Massie Swoyer and was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Scott Turner; and a sister, Barbara S. Rohde. Naomi was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center and was a 2002 graduate of Liberty Bible Institute. She was a member of Mended Hearts of Lynchburg, Chapter 16 and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Naomi is survived by three sons, Doug Turner and wife, Sally, Mark Turner and wife, Pam, and Jay Turner and wife, Cindy; two daughters, April Fix and husband, Stuart and Dawn Massie, all of Monroe; 12 grandchildren, William (Brittany), Casey (Jason), Megan (Danny), Travis, Jessica, Aaron, Ellis, Sarah, Jordan, Luke, Jarrett, and Jamie; ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Hudson of Madison Heights, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017, at New Prospect Baptist Church with Pastors Barry Tucker, Don Harvey, and Doug Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Allwood Cemetery in Pleasant View.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at her Minors Branch residence.
