Born on May 17, 1931, in Lanham, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Lanham and Anna H. Lanham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Kenneth Giles, Sr., and four siblings, Joseph E. Lanham, Robert E. Lanham, David M. Lanham, and Karen L. Goodwin.
Norma was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and an active member of the Pedlar Valley Garden Club. She found great joy in traveling and especially cherished the many trips and cruises she shared with friends over the years.
She is survived by her son, John Kenneth Giles, Jr. and his wife, Kelly; her grandson, John Kenneth Giles, III and his wife, Faith; two sisters, Judith L. Beavers, and Deborah L. Gompers and her husband, Samuel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Joyce Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery.
