Born on June 24, 1950 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Maybelle Lawhorne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Auman.
She is survived by her sisters, Edna Mae Cash, Mary Alice Martin (Steve Martin), Elsie Lawhorne (Kenny Hawkins) Diane Koda (John) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Phyliss was a devoted member of Wesleyan Church. She had a generous nature and was always looking for ways to help others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be conducted on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesleyan Church. Interment will follow at Schaar Family Cemetery, Grandma’s Hill Road, Amherst.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wesleyan Church, P.O. Box 757, Amherst VA 24521.
