Ronald Dominic Launders

Ronald Dominic Launders, 62, of Madison Heights passed away Friday, June 1, 2019 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Durham-Launders.
Born in Miami Florida, he was the son of the late Nolan Launders and Mary Giampapa Launders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richie Launders.
In addition to his wife he is survived by, cousins, Tina, Chrissey, Marsia and Debbie.
His love for music started when he was nine years old. His brother Rickie taught him a few cords and he started to play and soon mastered the piano. He went to NYU and earned a degree in broadcasting. For the next 30 years, he was a professional disc jockey. Over the years, he had the opportunity to meet several celebrities like John Lennon in Central Park, NY Jimmy Dean and the Loving Spoonful’s and many more. He worked for several radio stations out of Washington D.C. He was also an Elvis impersonator for over eight years with a costume made by his wife. He later began taking classes with Liberty University to begin a degree in theology.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Oasis Church in Monroe with Pastor Bubba Rose officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
