Stephen Lee Stinson

Stephen Lee Stinson, 77, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his residence. Born on June 21, 1945 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Admire C. Stinson and Lelia M. Stinson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Stinson and sister, Geraline Stinson Evans. Stephen was a retired Supervisor with GE/Ericsson. He loved hunting and fishing, playing horseshoes and taking rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Elon Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cynthia H. Stinson; his daughter, Tammy Cordani (Wayne) and his son, Dustin Stinson; granddaughter, Emily Cordani and grandson, Adam Stinson of Madison Heights; sister-in-law Joyce Stinson of Lynchburg; a special niece and caregiver, Wanda Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Donnie Tyree, Billy Irvin, John Marks and Wendy & Keith Kirkland. A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Rev. Steve D. Tyree officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
