Born in Hopewell on March 12, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Hubert Irvin Martin and Thelma Talley Martin. Sylvia was a co-owner of El Charro Mexican Restaurants.
She is survived by three daughters, Terry Smith and her husband, Chris of Madison Heights, Jana Schmitt and Lisa Smith; two sons, Lee Smith and Marty Smith; four granddaughters, Mandy Cocke, Krista Elliot, Samantha Smith and Jessica Sydenstricker; four grandsons, Timothy Elliot, Zachary Smith, Ryan Drouin, and Rubin Drouin; and many other grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
