Timothy "Tim" Allen Watson, 77, of Monroe, Virginia, left his earthly home on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and entered his eternal home in Heaven, where he is now free from earthly burdens and embraced by everlasting peace and joy.
Born on July 12, 1949, in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late George Allen Watson and Hallie Esther Sands Watson. Tim grew up in Monroe and graduated from Amherst County High School. He retired from BWXT after 45 years of dedicated service in quality control.
Tim was a hardworking man with a natural talent for working with his hands. From an early age, he enjoyed figuring out how things worked and could build or fix just about anything, including the home he built for his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, puzzles, NASCAR, cheering on his beloved UVA Cavaliers and New Orleans Saints, and traveling with his family, especially to the beach.
A lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Tim's strong faith was an important part of his life. Known for his warm smile, contagious laughter, and friendly personality, Tim truly never met a stranger. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making those around him feel welcome.
Above all, Tim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he loved them unconditionally. He was especially proud of his children and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Brenda Camden Watson; his children, Allyson Clark (Leon), Mark Watson (Brooke), and Kristy Watson (Derrick Martin); his grandchildren, Zachary Watson (Brittany), Shyann Adkins, Jenna Watson, and Reese Watson; his great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Viar, Hunter Viar, Jayce Swanson, and Camden Watson; his sister, Nancy Watson Hunt; and his sisters-in-law, Jackie Prince and Nancy Camden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Dennis Prince and Dennis Hunt.
Tim will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, unwavering love for his family, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the life he built will remain a lasting legacy for generations to come.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Rev. Bob Parks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone considering making memorial donations please consider the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org.
