Born March 17, 1968 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Brenda Floyd Witt and the late Clarence “Sonny” E. Witt, Jr. Tony was also preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Fanna Campbell Floyd with whom he always had great times, Clarence E. Witt, and Ruby Witt. Tony worked for years in construction and industrial maintenance. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, Tony is survived by five children, Tyler E. Witt and wife Megan, Joshua C. Witt, Lena Grace Witt, Katelyn Campbell and husband Ben, and Brandy Bryant; a sister, Connie S. Witt; a grandson, Clinton James Souther and a nephew, Rodney V. Allen, Jr.
Tony loved his children and was so proud of them. He also loved the beach, his Harley Davidson, the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially Montebello, and loved to have fun and music of any kind.
The family would like to send special thanks to Beth & Wayne Crawley for all their care and help and the great nurses and doctors who took great care of him at Lynchburg General Hospital. They also want to thank Rick Rasberry for the many visits and uplifting prayers and to his friends who helped him so much, you know who you are.
A memorial service to celebrate Tony’s life will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Rick Rasberry officiating. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.
