RIP My uncle
Mr. Vernon Drummond

RIP Uncle Vernon - Thinking of all the beautiful  memories  of our times spent together.   The last remaining sibling from my mom's  family.  Uncle Vernon  and my mom Mildred Drummond  Baker were two of the hardest  working people  I have ever known.  God took my mom home in 2003 and Uncle Vernon still remained  strong and now my Uncle Vernon is with all his loved ones in heaven.  
I loved visiting and having meals with Uncle Vernon and Aunt Vivian because, the best part of that meal was the prayer Uncle Vernon gave to bless the food. He knew how to pray.   Just the way he would pray was different  than anyone else I have ever heard. 
I am so happy that Uncle Vernon  and Aunt Vivian had a wonderful  grandson Stephen.  Still hard to believe  that his mother and I were next door neighbors.   Vernon Jr. wanted to see pictures
of my girlfriends  and Vernon Jr. chose Stephen's  mom.  They married  and were blessed with a son, grandson and then Uncle Vernon  and  Aunt Vivian  were blessed with  a beautiful  daughter in law and 3 beautiful  great grandchildren.   So, what my grandfather  wanted in his life was to carry on the Drummomd legacy which  Uncle Vernon did til the end.  And now Stephen has some big shoes to fill.   I am sure that he can handle that because  he is a Drummond. And he has a loving family to carry on the Drummond  name.  God granted so much love there on the Drummond farm.
Uncle Vernon  talked abot God's coloring book while in the trees, I cannot imagine  how God's  cloring  book looks now.  
Stephen,  your grandparents  were truly blessed to have you 
and your loving family.
May you all fine peace in all that see and do where a hard working man saw beauty in all that he done.

Vernon was a special man - always so happy and friendly.  He will be sorely missed in the Amherst Community.  Prayers for you, Steve, and your family.

Mr. Drummond was a great Godly man, I had the pleasure of being raised next door to Vernon and Vivian for eighteen years worked in the hayfields and farm with him and his dad many summers, he was a very hard worker and no one enjoyed farming more than he. My sincere condolences to Steven, Courtney, kids and family, RIP Mr. Drummond until we meet again on that golden shore.

Mr. Drummond was a true Southern Gentleman.  He was kind and personable to everyone.  He will be remembered by everyone as a kind soul and good man. Bless your family during this time.  Omar Moore, Jr. & Terri
