It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister in Christ, Vicki Rae Schwedt, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2023. She was a devoted mother of four, and her life was a testament to her deep faith in God.
Born on April 21, 1956 in Groton, CT, Vicki was raised with strong values of love, compassion and service to others. She carried those values with her throughout her life and lived every day in accordance with her faith.
Vicki was a devoted wife to her husband Jeffrey and together they raised their four children in a home filled with love, warmth, and God’s presence. Her children were her pride and joy, and she always put their needs before her own.
She had a kind and gentle spirit and always went out of her way to help others in need. She was an accomplished seamstress, making dresses over the years for her daughters, including a wedding dress for her daughter Carla. She battled a long illness with courage and grace, and throughout her struggles, she never lost her faith in God. Her unwavering trust in the Lord was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Jeffrey K. Schwedt; daughters, Carla A. Marshall (Todd), Jennifer L. Juda (Andrew), Kristen M. Noonan (Jon); son, Butch Wilmer; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Kerry Hise (Debbie); and sister, Amy Bartalomeo (Frank). She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Sandra Hise and her beloved son, Jason R. Schwedt.
We take comfort in knowing that Vicki is now with her Heavenly Father, where she will experience eternal peace and joy. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on through her children and all those she touched during her lifetime.
A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
Rest in peace, dear Vicki. You will always be remembered and cherished by those whose lives you touched.
