Viola Virginia Noland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on May 2, 1938, in Buckingham, Virginia, to Walker Hampton Cash and Eleanor Campbell Cash.
Viola was a cherished wife to Eddie Lamar Noland and a devoted mother to her daughters, Charlotte Swogger, Karen Bruce, and Doreen Skinner. She was preceded in death by her sons, Norman Lee Bruce Jr. and Curtis Hampton Bruce, as well as her parents and one brother, Douglas W. Cash and a sister, Delores Audrey Gibbons.
Viola was a dedicated school bus driver for Stafford County Public Schools in Virginia, where she touched the lives of countless children with her kindness and care. She was known for her love of sewing, baking delicious desserts, and tending to her garden. Viola enjoyed watching soap operas on TV, enjoyed the gospel music on the Daniel O'Connor Music show, and also listening to various gospel music artists. She found joy in nature watching and loving animals and had a wonderful sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her husband, daughters, and her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and friends that knew her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12:00 to 12:50 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Madison Heights Virginia, with Gene Woodward officiating. Viola will be laid to rest at Briarwood Memorial Park in Amherst, Virginia.
