Born March 3, 1944 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late F. Swanson Maddox and Ethel T. Maddox. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Williams.
He loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, and enjoyed spending time at church and being around his church family. Warren was a retired electrician and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and was a great singer. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jean G. Maddox; daughters Angela Cheatham (Mark) and Tracey Womack (Marshall); step-children Thomas Lipscomb (Karen), Steven Boyd (Tylea) and Michael Boyd (Bobbie); 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Hilton Maddox (Joyce); and sister, Lucille Paugh. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Corner Stone Baptist Church in Monroe with the Rev. Mark Cheatham and Rev. Peyton Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
