William Jonathan Hudson, 89, of Madison Heights, Virginia passed away comfortably surrounded by family on Thursday, September 27, 2018. He was the loving husband of Barbara M. Hudson. Born in Clifford, VA on September 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Betty Pearl Cash Hudson Campbell. William served his country between 1950 and 1954 with the United States Navy during the Korean War. Stationed aboard the U.S.S. Among those were CVTC, Westover Dairy, and building contractors John Stewart Walker and Austin Wade. William was a master carpenter who took great pride in his work. He was a volunteer foreman for Habitat for Humanity, building homes for families in need. Being very active in church, William followed his strong faith in God. He was a member of Clifford Baptist Church. William was raised along with 12 brothers and sisters, of which there were three sets of twins; Jack & John, Edward & Henry, and William & Virginia. He will always be remembered for his love of sports and the Washington Redskins, his storytelling, his sense of humor and quick wit, his love of singing and dancing, and most importantly, his unwavering love and devotion for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his three children Deborah Johnson, David Hudson, and Darryl Hudson, his two stepchildren Roberto Sabastiani and his wife Erica, and Elaine Harris Grant and her husband Gerry.
