William "Nate" Nathaniel Johnson

William (Nate) Nathaniel Johnson, 72, of Amherst passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. He was the husband of Maria Olivero Johnson. Born July 13, 1944, in Statesville, NC, he was the son of the late Arthur Lee Johnson and the late Mary Kimbrough Johnson.

Nate was a retired self-employed contractor. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Nate is survived by five children, Sonia Johnson of Amherst, Nicholas Johnson of Amherst , Kenneth Johnson and his wife Chrystie of Fishkill, NY, Angela Johnson of Connecticut and William Johnson, Jr.; one brother, Robert Johnson of Statesville, NC; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Jason Canipe officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
