

William O'Donal Tomlin, Sr., 94, of Madison Heights, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Avante' at Lynchburg. He was the husband of the late Bertha May Dowdy Tomlin.
Born February 4, 1916 in Amherst County, he was the son of the late Voorhies E. and Antha Lee Reynolds Tomlin and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Duvall, Haynes, Wesley, Bert, and Harry Tomlin; two sisters, Daisy Padgett and Neva Kidd and a grandson, Perry Tomlin.
Mr. Tomlin is survived by six children, W.O. Tomlin, Jr. and wife, Lillie of Madison Heights, Rodney J. Tomlin of Lynchburg, Sheila T. Pappas of Richmond, Lewis Tomlin and wife, Melodye of Wilson, NC, Tony Tomlin and companion, Wanda Farmer and Fred Tomlin and wife, Gayle, all of Madison Heights; one sister, Helen Rowland and husband, Shirley, also of Madison Heights; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2010 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Clyde Dalton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., today, July 29, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the home of Fred & Gayle Tomlin.
