

Carl Curtis Wills, 95, of Charleston passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Charleston Area Medical Center. Born Oct. 17, 1930, to James and Estil (Belcher) Wills, Carl was the youngest of four children and spent his entire life in the family home on Campbells Creek.
After graduating from Dupont High School, Carl worked two years for Thomas Field & Co. The Marine Corps drafted him in 1951, and he proudly served as a bugler during the Korean conflict. He retired from Graphic Controls. He was a lifelong member of Coal Fork United Methodist Church.
Carl was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Never at a loss for words, he would entertain family and friends alike. He truly loved his family and enjoyed his friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James (Phyllis) Wills, Jesse “Teny” (Marlene) Wills; sister, June (Jim) Bupp; and favorite niece Patti “Tiki” Hedrick.
Left to treasure his memory are his nieces and nephews: Steve (Julie) Bupp, Beverly (Dan) Page, Nancy Bupp (David Deaderick), Butchie (Cheryl) Wills, Susan (Guy) Gage, Terri (Jimmy) Roberts, Kelly (Bobby) Carson as well as 18 great nieces and nephews and many more great-greats. Also left to cherish his memory is his special friend, Gigi Hatfield, whom the family wishes to remember for her many years of love and support.
The family also would like to thank Carl’s many friends and neighbors for their acts of kindness during his final years.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday October 23, 2025 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Mike Skiles officiating. Burial will follow at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Ken Ellis Memorial Park, 714 Point Lick Terrace, Charleston, WV 25306.
