Dawna Lou Townsend, born July 27, 1936, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2015, at her home with her daughter, Ronda, by her side. She was a Christian and loved her Church. She was a life time member of the Campbells Church of the Nazarene and a 1954 graduate of DuPont High School. She loved her family and made friends everywhere she went. She will be sadly missed by them all. Dawna was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Townsend; six sisters and one brother. She is survived by her children, Marlena, Mark, Ronda and Anthony Townsend; grandchildren, Lee and Calab Bays, Sara and Evan Townsend, Michael Townsend, Jonathan Morris and Jason Butts. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Robert Cale officiating. The burial will follow the service in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
