She was born in Charleston, WV on April 10, 1934. She graduated from DuPont High School and was an honorable discharged veteran.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Warden and Daisy Hanson; and her six siblings who she loved dearly. Dorothy cherished her beloved pet Toto, who's needs she put above all else.
Dorothy is survived by three nieces and three nephews whom she cared about as if they were he own; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She also cherished her friends and neighbors.
She loved life, lived as she wanted and loved to travel. She valued her independence and privacy. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and to make others laugh.
Aunt Dot was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
We are asking donations be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or an Animal Care Foundation of your choosing.
