

He was a member of the Rand First Church of the Nazarene and played piano for Sunday morning services for many years. He attended DuPont High School, and was in the Bellaires show choir, graduating in 1974. He served our country for 16 years and traveled the world, thereafter, retiring as a Navy veteran. Following that he became an LPN, dedicating his life to serving the least of us, children and the elderly. Freddie loved to bake, dress in style for the occasion, and bring joy to all those who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patricia G. Rogers (Young), his father, Joseph L. Rogers, his grandparents, Harvey H and Olive Mae Young.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, K. Joyce Shaffer (Greathouse), Darlene G. Greathouse, Cheryl L. Rogers, Deborah A. Rogers Roderick (Danny), Tyrena L. Rogers Burdette (Richard) and his brother Joseph J. Rogers. Also, his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. He is held in the heart of bestest friend for life, Eileen Kellogg.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rand First Church of the Nazarene, 305 Davidson Avenue, Rand West Virginia.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made via the executor of his estate, niece Rebekah Whitlow (Rogers).
