This is a difficult time for all of us in this crazy world. I only have the VERY BEST to say about my sweet daddy, but over the course of these last few days, I have felt the comfort of my beloved family, and the support of neighbors, and friends, and the warmth of precious memories and words of remembrance and respect from past co-workers, daddy's personal physicians, and people who are very close, and dear to our hearts from past to present.

The world knew him as " one of the best guys" you'd ever be around, who truly would be there for you no matter what the situation, or just to say a prayer for you and give you some home-grown produce just to make his day, much less yours.

If I have learned anything from him in the 50 years the Lord has let me be on this earth, is that family and friends are the way to a loved, happy life, and respect for each other is not only spiritual, but a must.

If we all can take something from the passing of my beloved daddy, I hope all who were associated with him in some way, that his life, testimony, and respect for his fellow man, will continue to make us all more willing to help others, and continue to look to the Lord above for guidance and strength for difficult and good days as well as love for your friends and family.

There is NEVER enough time to spend with the ones you love. Please cherish it as I have cherished EVERY moment with my daddy. I will truly miss him, but know he is rejoicing with family and friends who have gone before us.

The flowers, gardens and beaches in heaven are blessed to have you there daddy! I Love you still and forever in my heart! Please give Ken a big kiss and hug for me... what a reunion!

Where do I begin. I have so many memories of Uncle Rooster and his siblings growing up. He always had a smile and it was always a joy being around him. Love him and all the brothers and sisters so much. May his wife and children be comforted at this time. Cherish the memories, because I’m sure he left you many many great ones. Love to each of you.

Fred, was one of the most genuine and kind people that I have ever met. I met him while working at the WV Board of Coal Mine Health & Safety. He was always there to listen, help out, or give me a laugh. He will forever be remembered and missed.

Prayers to the family.

As the management representative of the West Virginia Technical Review Committee and Coal Forum, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Fred over the past 30 years. My experience with Fred was always pleasant and progressive. He had an unyielding love and passion to help working miners keep safe in every way and left a very positive mark on coal mining. Fred’s leadership will be missed by all of us.
