Hancil "Buddy" M. Kessel Jr.

Buddy was born in Charleston General Hospital on July 3, 1952, to the late Hancil M. and Fredia (Dimple) Cobb Kessel.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Sue Price; brother, Wayne Kessel; and his Beloved dog, Sam.

His surviving relatives include sister-in-law, Chris Kessel; brother-in-law, Ron Price; and nephews, Ronnie Price, Brian Price; and niece, Cindy McIntyre; great nephews, Grant, Drew, and Timothy. He was beloved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in the surrounding area of Rand.

The family would like to thank Buddy’s special friend Jane Paxton for providing comfort for him during his illness. She invited him to attend Bethlehem Baptist Church in Witcher. During a visit by the pastor, Buddy accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior.

He worked as a Coal Miner with Valley Camp Coal Company and later worked as a Health Care Provider with Genesis Health System.

There will be no service for Buddy right now. The family will join with relatives and friends to celebrate Buddy’s life. The date will be soon, as we have out-of-town relatives to attend.

Entombment will be at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens, Glasgow.
