James "Jim" Hamrick

He was a retired coal miner and owner/operator of Hamrick Hauling & Excavating. He worked hard his entire life to provide for his family, and taught many young people, who looked up to him, how to do the same. He found the Lord later in life and one of his favorite past-times in recent years was listening to his audio Bible.

Jim never met a stranger, always had a story to tell, and brought laughter wherever he went. His generosity was limitless and so was his love for his family and numerous friends - especially those from Witcher Creek who always held a special place in his heart.

He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Sandy, for nearly 62 years and the world’s best daddy to his two daughters. His granddaughter, Kaylie, whom he affectionately called “Bug”, was not only his pride and joy, but also his best friend.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra (Sandy) Hamrick; parents, Hazel & Elsie Hamrick; sisters, RuthAnn Christy & Susie Williams; and infant grandson, Jacob Matthew Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters Jill (Sidney) Parsons of Hurricane and Lori (Scott) Williams of Hernshaw; granddaughter Kaylie Williams of Hernshaw; brothers Jerold Hamrick & Harold Hamrick; sisters Linda Browning, Nancy Lacy, Shirley Juliano and Barbara Keeney and numerous nieces & nephews.

In keeping with James wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest at Witcher Memorial Gardens.
