Dear Jon and other family members,
Clark was like another father to our daughter Kristi when she was a teen and later also. He was very protective of her and we knew she was safe when she was there. We learned to love and appreciate him greatly and pray he will now find his peace and rest in the arms of God. We extend our sincere sympathy to Jon and all the other members of family and friends. In His love, Glenn and Fleta Mathews

James Clark Nida has left behind his family and community who miss him very much. He helped to raise his granddaughter Emily Nida. He walked the floor with her when she had colic. He made up songs to sing to her on the porch swing. He didn't want to die in a hospital and he got his wish. He was in his own bed and Ariya his great grand daughter, Emily, his nephew Jeremy Kennedy, Ariya's father Michael, his sister Izola Kennedy were all there. He was a father figure to me, Lisa Craddock, mother of Emily and grandmother of Ariya, for over half my life. Someone once told me that Home is a place where you can show up at an ungodly hour having lost everything and you will be welcomed with Love. That was James Clark Nida's house. He has gone to be with his parents, Carrie Nida and James Howard Nida, who were also well loved. We are heartbroken due to his passing. My daughter has never known a world without her Poppy. Emily and Ariya were Loved so much by him that he lived for years past all expectations of his doctors. He has left behind his sister and best friend, Izola Kennedy, his niece and nephew, Andrea Kaups and Jeremy Kennedy. He was extremely proud of his grandson Spencer Back, and loved Spencer's wife and child. He leaves a son, Jonathan Nida who lives in Florida, a daughter, Barbara Massey who resides in Texas, her daughter, Payton Massey.
