Jesse Ben Mize Jr., 84 of DuPont City passed away Saturday February 17, 2018 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

JB was born in Rand on July 4, 1933 to the late Jesse Ben Sr. & Virginia Florence Hagerman Mize. He was a retired Master Electrician with IBEW Local 466 with 42 years of service. He was a member of the Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, Campbells Creek and was an avid gardener, fisherman and hunter.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Ned William Mize.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Barbara Randolph Mize; children, Martha (Andy) Marlow of DuPont City, Virginia (Steve) Taylor of Ravenswood, Jesse Ben (Christie) Mize III of Ravenswood and Henrietta (Hess) Nomar of Rand; grandchildren, Chuckie Skiles Jr., Vickie Skiles, Brook (Nathan) Cooper, Jesse, Cari and Joshua Mize, Alex Nida; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jaelyn & Elijah Skiles, Malachi Taylor, Brady & Azzerayah Skiles & Jace Nida.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday February 22, 2018 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

A visitation with family & friends will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Jesse. My family and I attended Farrar Memorial Baptist Church in Rand with him many years ago and even then, remember his sweet smile and loving personality. Prayers and hugs to his family.
