I sure loved your dad. He was the one preaching the New Years Eve service the night I got saved. He helped baptize me in February at Rattlesnake Hollow. I spent many Sunday afternoons with my sweet friend Diane at their home. They introduced me to a Christian home environment. This same man never gave up on our dad and planted many Gospel seeds that grew into his surrender and he got saved too. Then John preached Dad's farewell funeral with such honor and hope, dad sure would have been pleased as we all were. John check on our mom and prayed for her. Our world has lost a strong Christian pillar. Thank you Young family for sharing your dad with us and the world. We love you all and praying for your comfort. Here is the last time I visited your dad. He was so happy and talkative. Crying and praising his Jesus.


John Young touched the Harris family in a multitude of ways. He had a tremendous impact upon our dad, Fred, as he witnessed to him at work and invited him to church. One day, at a church revival, God saved Dad, and he became a precious Christian man.  Dad, and many others, greatly respected John Young.   I’ve been told that John was preaching the night my sister was saved, and he helped baptize her.  He also was very kind to all of our family.  We remember him faithfully visiting and praying for our mom.   The Harris family is very thankful that the Lord put His faithful servant in our lives.  

John Young had such a godly testimony and is surely shouting all over Heaven! Our hearts and prayers are now with his family, who received such a godly heritage. This temporary separation from loved ones leaves a big hole in lives, but there is a promised reunion, for those who know the Lord as their Savior. 

John is my favorite preacher of all times.  He was such a good man.  He sat up night after night with my step grandfather at the hospital while my Dad was working midnight shift.

In all my years of travel, Mr. Young was one of the happiest residents I’ve ever met. I loved listening to him tell me stories about how hard he had worked and how much love he had for his family. He was truly one of a kind.

I used to clean Mr. Young’s room. He talked to me about being a preacher and talked mostly of his wife and how he  much missed her . He spoke of how proud he was of his children.  Even though I only knew him for a short time he made me a big impact on my life. Thank you Mr. Young for your bright smile and your wisdom.  

Mr John Young you have been a big influence to many people far and wide so glad i had the chance to be in services with you , and thanks for being a good friend to my dad John Campbell {Mickey} passed 09/22/2013  i heard stories of you all growing up and then working together at the mines

Neal and I have many happy memories of John.  He was always such a positive influence to everyone he met.  We loved to be around him and talk and listen, too!  Your family is in our thoughts and our prayers.  ❤️🙏🏻

Papaw Young was a special man. Heaven gained a special angel. He meant a lot to me and many. He always told me to call him papaw. He will be missed by many!!
