Kenny “Tator” Garten, 76, of Blount, went on to play music on the big band stand in the sky on June 2, 2014. Kenny played music for over 60 years and was known for being “One of the Best” guitar pickers in the area. He was known as "Tator" on stage. Kenny loved and will be missed by his daughter, Pam Farmer of Amarillo, Texas, and one grandson Brandon Farmer, also of Amarillo, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Vada Garten; and sisters, Kaye and Faye. A memorial gathering will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday June 5, 2014, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. A special gathering will also be held Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Miss Kitty’s on Campbell’s Creek from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
