Remember when I didn't need you? Well, I need you now, to hold my head up high and say "It's all better, child. " Remember when I was along and crying out? "You will be missed, but you're all better now."

I wish I would've come to see you more often. But I guess in my head I just had all the time in the world, that you weren't going anywhere. I don't think the thought ever crossed my mind that you'd actually be gone someday. You aren't supposed to be gone now, and I hate that you are. I hate that I didn't come around as much as I should've. I hate that I didn't get to make any more memories with you. I cherish the ones that I do have now more than ever. It's just hard to fathom that this is happening. I'm so proud and grateful that you are my pawpaw and gave me an unconditional love. I hope I have the chance to make you proud of me. Hopefully, when the time comes we can talk and catch up. Hopefully, I have plenty of interesting things to tell you...

But until then, get some rest pawpaw. You fought so hard and you deserve the ease. I love you pawpaw and I'm going to miss you always until I get the chance to see you again.
