Larry Edward Glassburn Sr., 72, of Campbells Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at CAMC General Hospital. Larry was born in Charleston on December 14, 1943, to the late Johnny and Destie Landers Glassburn. He was a coal miner having last work at Carbon Fuel, was a member of the UMWA and Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Glassburn. He is survived by his son, Larry E. Glassburn Jr. of Charleston; nieces, Terry Patton of Orlando, Florida and Cathy McGraw of San Diego, California; nephew, John Davidson of Chicago, Illinois; several other nieces and nephews; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Elswick. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016, at Point Lick Gospel Tabernacle, 187 Point Lick Drive, Campbells Creek, with Pastor Larry Campbell officiating. The burial will follow the service at Center Point Cemetery, Red House. A visitation with family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the Church on Monday.
