Lola Jean Belcher

Lola was born in Charleston on January 31, 1934, a daughter to the late Cameron and Annie Winfree Atkins. She was the captain of the cheerleaders at Midway Junior High School; a 1951 graduate of DuPont High School where she was an accomplished trumpet player and also a graduate of Garnet Career College. She retired from CAMC Womens and Childrens Hospital as a Nurse in Delivery. Lola was also a member of Cross Lanes Bible Church.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Duke Atkins.

Lola is survived by her husband, Norris Belcher; children, Dee (Jeanie) Bowe of Charleston, Camille (Darrell) Smith of Ravenswood and Sandra (Randy) Moore of Malden; grandchildren, Jean Anne (Scott) Pritt of Concord, NC, Dr. Ronald Dee Bowe III of Columbus, OH, April Taylor and Misty Yeager both of Malden, Jennifer (Tyler) Pitts of Fairplain, Matthew Smith of Parkersburg and Andrew (Kay) Smith of Richmond, VA, and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.

A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
