Margaret I. Snidow Dent

Margaret I. Snidow Dent—our loving, kind, supportive and always humorous mother and grandmother—passed peacefully on to her forever home on April 23 at the age of 95. She will always be loved, missed and remembered with a smile by all who knew her. Born in Putney, WV in 1920, Margaret graduated Salutatorian from Malden High School in 1937 and was employed by Hatfield Campbells Creek Coal Company in Putney. She spent 18 years with the Selective Service System Local Draft Board in Charleston. Margaret and Charles Dent retired to Avon Park, FL where they enjoyed 20 years. She was a 50+ Year Member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 81, Malden, WV, was a longtime member of the Kanawha Salines Presbyterian Church in Malden and attended Milton Methodist Church in Milton, WV. She resided in Culloden, WV in her final years with her daughter and son-in-law. She was preceded in death by: husband Charles Frederick Dent; parents Homer and Urana Leftwich Snidow; daughter Nancy Sue Dent Fox; siblings Albert (wife Edith) Snidow and Inez Snidow (husband Jennings) Johnson. Her legacy carries on with: daughter Jean Dent (husband Gordon) Eads of Culloden, WV, and son-in-law Robert M. Fox of Sebring FL; granddaughter Kelly Hines (husband John) Keller of Berthoud, CO; grandsons Kyle O. Garner (fiancé Pam Coleman) of Sebring, FL, Corey F. Garner of Pasadena, TX and Kerry E. (wife Karen) Garner of Lake Placid, FL; and great-grandchildren Lukas, Mackenzie and Jakob Keller of Berthoud, CO, Tyler, Cole, Mackenzie and Bode Garner of Deer Park, TX, Cameron Garner of Pasadena, TX, and Kayleigh, Jillian and Lanie Garner of Lake Placid, FL. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Monday April 27, 2015 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, officiated by Rev. Dr. Lynn Cartwright of Milton United Methodist Church. A private entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
