Mary Margaret “Tootsie” Bowles 72, of Charleston went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday April 16,2021 with her son, daughter, and grandson by her side. Mary was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Robert Lee Bowles, her parents, Elizabeth and Danny Franklin, and John Arbogast, and her sister, Ruth “Sammy” Russell. Also preceding her in death were brothers Jimmy and Johnny who passed away as young children. Mary is survived by her son, Danny (Julie) Bowles of Sissonville and her daughter Amy Bowles (Bart Roy) of Campbells Creek. She is also survived by her best friend and brother Ronald (Annabelle) Collison of Florida. Mary leaves behind four grandsons., Jaxson, Hunter, Hayden, and Hank who were her pride and joy and reason for living. Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She lived by the philosophy that “Nothing is gonna steal my joy!”. Mary will truly be remembered for her gentle soul, pure heart, and the compassion she showed to others. She was a faithful believer and servant of the Lord. Mary would want us all to trust God’s plan and accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior so she may see us all once again. A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Mary’s life at a later date. Mary loved her country and was a big supporter of our veterans. You can honor her memory by making a donation to the West Virginia Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans at 336 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston WV 25306. The online guest book can be accessed at www.stevensandgrass.com. Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden is in charge of arrangements.

My Tootsie cousin more like a sister. A spiritual woman of wisdom. We used to compete dressing up, fighting over our cousin David when we were 12. We shared many many important words of wisdom with each other. I am sooooo grateful to her entire family for their love, devotion an care. We miss you.

I am so sorry to hear of Tooties passing
We just spoke on Facebook last month and she and I was talking about all the times we all had together and that she was keeping my mom in her prayers and that she loved us all
Tootsie will be missed by a tremendous amount of people. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers

Mary was a sweet person you could count on in difficult situations. She helped me several times when my son was in his teenage years. I loved her willingness to always listen an understanding ways. She certainly raised a kind Son that shows all the same attributes. Rest In Peace Mary you will be missed.

My dear childhood friends, my heart aches with you. Your mom was so kind to all of us kids growing up, we knew we were safe to go there if we were hurt or to get food and drinks or hang out. You both were her pride and joy then she got her grand kids and they learned what we knew ourselves that she was a angel sent to us to love and protect us. Her and your dad are now together again watching over you and your family. Waiting for you to join them in Heaven. Love hugs and prayers

I have so many happy memories of Aunt Tootsie. She was so loving, kind, thoughtful and caring. She will be forever loved and missed everyday. I know she is at peace now and dancing with Uncle Robbie..
