He leaves behind his mother, Vanesse Myers and step-father, James Comuzie; two sisters, Abi Ayers (Traun Musgrove), and Brittany Ayers. He will be missed by his two nieces, Nakkia and Aariana Ayers; two nephews, Jamison and Zayden; and one great-nephew, Liam. He also leaves behind two uncles, David (Jane) Bracken and Ernie (Sally) Bracken; aunt, Diana Bossie; two special aunts, Tammy Stewart and Valerie (Gary) Bryant; and numerous cousins; his furry best friend, Sage.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodson and Naomi Bracken; cousin, TJ Elswick; uncle, Stephen Bossie; and a special uncle, Roger Stewart.
Matthew is a 2012 graduate of Riverside High School, Bridge Valley Community and Technical College (2016) and WV Institute of Technology Chemical Engineering (2018). He was an alumnus of Sigma Pi.
He was employed by WV Department of Environmental Protection, which was his dream job.
Matt was an organ donor and has already improved the lives of two recipients. All who knew him benefited from his generous, loving spirit.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Spring Fork Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, with Pastor Mike Long officiating.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the Memorial Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Society, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
