

Michael worked as a maintenance technician at Embassy Suites in Charleston. He also worked at the Coca-Cola Plant in Atlanta, Georgia. He gave his life to Christ and began living by the word of God.
Michael was a beloved dad, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is most known for his strength, kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Mike would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Michael enjoyed spending time with his son, Marcus, they would attend movies, watch football, basketball, and boxing. He was a Golden State Warrior fan. Michael loved his family cookouts and entertaining his family. He was the life of the party.
Michael is survived by his son, Marcus Jackson and daughter-in-law, Shanna Jackson of Charleston; his brothers and sisters, David Barrett of Charleston, Peggy Barrett of Charleston, Drema Pankey of Charleston, Jimmy Barrett of Lynchburg, Virginia, Tony Barrett of Charleston, Tonya Barrett of Charleston, Billy Barrett of Charleston, Kevin Barrett of Charleston, Bonnie Tandy of Decatur, Georgia, Denise Johnson of Tennessee, and Michelle Barrett-Dia of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by siblings, Connie Mullins, Dennis, Tommy and Joseph Barrett. Michael is also survived by aunts, Martha Coleman and Betty Barrett of Beards Fork, West Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and his best friends, Doug and Darrell Mullins of Beards Fork, West Virginia.
Cremation is being honored and a Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Douglas Mullins of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, West Virginia, and Darrell Mullins officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
