

Nancy, 87, of Charleston, departed this life Tuesday, July 14, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born June 17, 1939.
She was a high school graduate of DuPont High School. After completing high school, she married the love of her life, stayed home as a homemaker and cared for their 3 children. After several years at home, she went to work for Charleston Area Medical Center working midnight shift for 27 years as a Nurse Aid/Health Unit Coordinator.
Nancy was born and raised in a Christian home along with her two brothers. The family loved singing gospel hymns and were often asked to sing at small events. She attended Dry Branch Community Church.
She had a beautiful soul, a wonderful sense of humor, always a big smile on her face and loved everyone she met.
One of her favorite things to do was taking long side by side rides with her daughter. She loved it! She was full of fun, always ready to go anywhere, anytime.
Nancy was a special lady and will be missed by so many especially her daughter, Kim, who has been her sole caretaker and she made Nancy’s life so much better than anyone could have. They were lucky to have each other.
In addition to her husband, Robert Shannon, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Mark Shannon and Timothy Shannon. Her parents, Samuel and Louise Wolfe, and her brothers, Ted Wolfe and Dale Wolfe.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughter, Kimberly Neil (Craig), daughter-in-law, Melody Shannon; grandchildren Sterling Jordan, Courtney Becker, Samuel Neil, Sydney Neil; her step-grandchildren, Matthew Sanchez and Cory Sanchez; and her great-grandson, Timothy Russell.
Also, her sister-in-law, Jean Wolfe, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm with the service beginning at 1:00 on Monday the 20th day of July 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, 4203 Salines Drive, Malden. Donald Fleck will be speaking along with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Interment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes.
