

Nancy was born in Charleston on April 18, 1948, to the late Kenneth and Phyllis Holder Lyons. She was a 1966 graduate of DuPont High School; she was a retired clerical worker in Archives & History with the State of West Virginia with over 20 years of service; she was an active member of Malden Baptist Church where she played the organ for many years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Judith Musser and Sally Chestnut.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, JD Waggoner; son, Eric (Jessica) Waggoner of Charleston; daughter, Amy Eddy of Malden; three grandchildren, Charlotte Eddy, Arlo and August Waggoner; sister-in-law, Rhonda “(Dewight)” Thornton of Dallas, TX. Not only was Nancy a mother to her two children, she also served as a mother to six foreign exchange students around the world.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Rick Wilkinson officiating. The burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Cemetery, Birch River.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the funeral Home.
