To you Joyce, his sister, and to you, his mother, I send my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of a brother and of a son. Both of you gave of yourselves throughout and that speaks volumes--volumes of love and
of caring. God has gained another angel.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
By Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

So sorry to hear about Alan. I have such fond memories of him. He always had something to say. I don't think there was a topic that he didn't have an opinion about. I will always remember him as my childhood friend.
