Richard Lee Cassis

A 1970 graduate of Charleston High School, Rick had a business degree from WV State University. He lived in the Charleston area his entire life, and was a successful businessman, being the owner of Rick Cassis Insurance. He participated actively in organizing the Charleston High School reunions, and was well known in the community.

Rick was the son of Nicholas, Sr. and Alexandra Salhany Cassis, who predeceased him in death. His 1st cousins, Marsha, Larry (Carol), Marilyn Cassis, and Michael Salhany, will also greet him in Heaven.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory brother, Nicholas Cassis, Jr and his wife, Monica, sisters, Josephine and her husband, Arvyl Hypes, Zani Cassis and her husband, Larry Autry. His 1st cousins were like siblings, Micki, Marlene, Cindi, Candy, Pam, Bruce, Steve, Lisa, LeeAnn, and Gary, who loved him dearly. His nieces and nephews, Gregory, Nichole, Joseph, Anthony, Kim, and Stacey, adored Uncle Rick. His pride and joys were his great-niece Norah, and -nephews Nicholas, Alexander, Charlie, Vincent, and Will.

A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 190 Court St., Charleston, WV 25301 with Rev. Father Joseph Hazar officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service at the Cathedral. The Committal Service will be at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in the mausoleum chapel.
