

Roger Dale Cochran, age 78, passed away on Friday October 17, 2025, after a life of love, family and adventure. Born on February 10, 1947, in Charleston, WV, Roger was raised on Campbell’s Creek, where he developed a strong sense of community and roots that stayed with him throughout his life.
After graduating from DuPont High School in 1965, Roger immediately enlisted in the US Air Force, serving his country with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War. He completed two tours of service, demonstrating remarkable courage and dedication to his country.
Following his service, Roger enjoyed spending time on the golf course, where his love for the game brought him joy and camaraderie with friends and family. He was also a die-hard Mountaineer fan, cheering on his team with passion and pride.
In 1977, Roger relocated to Mobile, Alabama, where he built a new life and community. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Wright Cochran, whom he married on November 6, 1971; his special sister-in-law, Sheila McLemore and her husband, Don of Avon Lake, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews who were deeply loved by him; and his special “daughter” Jess Conner.
Roger is predeceased by his parents, Carl R. Cochran and Emily Morton Cochran; his brother, Carl W. Cochran; sisters, Jane LeBlanc, Brenda Hayson, Alice Horan and Dorothy Blount.
A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday October 24, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden. Burial will follow with Military Rites at Forest Memorial Park, Milton.
