Rosella Ferrell, 91, of Campbell’s Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Ferrell. She was born on May 20, 1927 at Point Lick and was the daughter of the late George and Julia Blount. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Earl Blount.
Rosella was a graduate of DuPont High School. Rosella married the love of her life on January 25, 1947. The couple celebrated their 68th anniversary in 2015 before Cleon passed away that year. She was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church. Rosella, along with her husband Cleon, was one of the founders and life-long supporter of Charleston North East Little League of Campbell’s Creek. She loved watching ballgames from her front porch. She traveled all over the state and the eastern U.S. with her husband to watch the North East All Star teams for over 50 years. Rosella also enjoyed taking care of flowers, and was fascinated by watching birds.
Rosella always had a special place in her heart for her family and grandkids and great-grandkids. Rosella was a devoted wife and mother to twins, Terry and Jerry Ferrell and daughter, Diana and Kelly Bradley, who survive her. She is also survived by three grandkids, Christopher and Kelly Jo Bradley, April and Matthew Griffith, and Corey and Sidney Bradley; and five great-grandchildren, Aaron Bradley, Zachary and Natalie Griffith, and Titus and Ava Bradley.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home Chapel, Malden, with Pastors Corey Bradley and Tim Martin officiating. The burial will follow the service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, at the funeral home.
